Once the buildings are ready and the pumps are installed, the system will be operational in the second quarter of this year. The water network will have the capacity to pump 800 tonnes of water per hour between Male' and Hulhumale'.

Maldives Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) has said yesterday that 65 percent of the work on the project to connect the water networks of Male' and Hulhumale' has been completed.
The project, initiated in 2016, experienced delays due to various challenges but resumed last year.
