The Chargé d’Affaires of the European Union to Maldives, Thorsten Bargfrede, paid a courtesy call on Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Shahid on Tuesday.
According to the foreign ministry, the two diplomats discussed the existing cooperation programmes between Maldives and EU at the sit-down held at the ministry.
The foreign minister and Chargé d’Affaires also touched upon ways to expand cooperation on counter-radicalisation, and to increase support from the EU to implement the reform initiatives of the current administration.
Minister Shahid was accompanied at the meeting by State Minister Ahmed Khaleel and Director Shiuneen Rasheed of the foreign ministry.
