National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) said that they had received 50 requests for assistance in connection with the fire incident at Maafannu Green Building this morning.
NDMA said that it has received 50 reports seeking assistance, however, no requested had been so far seeking temporary shelter. Families who had to evacuate their homes in the area have arranged their own accommodations, the authority said.
In response to the fire, NDMA has set up an emergency evacuation center at the Social Center to assist those evacuated from nearby buildings. A significant number of people have been relocated due to heavy smoke in the area.

The fire, which affected several offices, including the Ministry of Housing, Ministry of Construction, Ministry of Environment, and Male' City Council, has been brought under control by the MNDF Fire and Rescue services.
