Addu Canareef Resort, which has been closed for more than a year, is set to open next month and has started hiring.

Canareef had closed their premises for tourists due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Currently they are looking to hire people for their food and beverages department, front office, finance, gardening, security and engineering department as well.

People interested in these positions may send their CV to [email protected] before November 25. The main requirement the resort is looking for is a minimum of two year experience in the field they are applying for.

Canareef said they will provide their employees with a good salary and benefits as well. Their employees will also receive opportunities to further their careers in these paths as well.

The company assured Addu City Council in October that they would re-open the resort next month.

This resort is situated in a separate island in Addu, away from the inhabited islands of Addu. This resort initially opened in 2007, and was operated as Herethera. This is the first resort that was opened in Addu.

Shangrilla Villingili Resort and Spa in Addu has also been closed since last year due to the pandemic. It is still unclear when this resort would be re-opened to the public.

Only South Palm Resort Maldives is in operations at Addu at the moment.

Flights from Sri Lankan Airlines to Gan Airport will resume in December 4 as well. It is believed this will impact the tourist arrivals in Addu resorts as well.
