Mohamed Shujau Abdul Raheem, who had previously been dismissed from his role as the Principal of Arabiyya School, dedicated to Arabic education in the Maldives, has now been reinstated in his position.

Shujau was relieved of his duties as the Principal of Arabiyya School in November of the previous year and subsequently transferred to the National Institute of Education (NIE). The ministry's decision to remove him was based on his perceived lack of effort in quelling the 'Save Arabbiya' campaign initiated by the school's parents, as he sided with the parents in the matter. However, he refrained from commenting on the case.

The Employment Tribunal ruled in favor of Shujau, declaring that his transfer to another position was done unlawfully. The tribunal mandated his reinstatement as the principal of Arabiyya within 30 days.

In a letter signed by Ahmed Ali, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Shujau is officially reassigned to the position of Principal of Arabiyya School. The letter directed him to assume his responsibilities from the following day, effective November 20, 2023. The communication emphasized the transfer of principalship and urged Shujau to execute all necessary formalities for school management in accordance with established procedures.

Shujau had originally assumed the role of principal at Arabiyya School on January 8, 2018. During his absence from the position, Hussain Saeed, the principal of Iskandar School, had temporarily taken over the responsibilities.
