Minister of Communications, Science and Technology Mohamed Maleeh Jamaal, on Tuesday, revealed that the government was conducting discussions to extend Google services in Maldives and establish a Microsoft branch in the country.
Speaking to local media outlet Mihaaru, the minister disclosed that deliberations were ongoing with Google while Microsoft has made positive indications on the decision to establish a branch in Maldives.
However, Maleeh added that the exact dates for its establishment were uncertain at present.
Apple had confirmed that Maldives is among the list of countries to which they will expand its App Store during 2020.
Technology companies will introduce new technological solutions and make a multitude of services available in the country.
