Chinese Ambassador to Maldives Zhang Lizhong, on Wednesday, called on the Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Shahid.
At the meeting held at the temporary premises of the Ministry, the two diplomats discussed preparations and vital topics for deliberation during the minister’s upcoming visit to Beijing, China, in September.

Shahid noted that his visit would mark an important milestone in Maldives-China relations.
In addition, both state representatives explored areas of mutual interest for future cooperation.
The meeting was also attended by State Minister for Foreign Affairs Ahmed Khaleel and Assistant Director Maryam Bassama Farooq.
