The 9 foot crocodile spotted off the coast of Kandinma resort has been captured by the MNDF Coast Guard.
The 9-foot crocodile spotted near Dhaal atoll Kandinma Resort has been captured by the Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF).
An MNDF media official said that the crocodile sighting was reported at 1600 hrs last evening.
Upon receiving the report, the MNDF Coast Guard reached the area and captured the crocodile.
Crocodile sightings have occurred in the Maldives islands in the past. After capturing crocodiles, the standard procedure is to release them far from populated islands.
