The rider of the motorcycle sustained serious injuries in this accident.
A Police Media Official confirmed that they had received reports of a speeding motorcycle crashing into this sand mound at around 23:50 hrs last night.
The 23 year old male riding the motorcycle is receiving treatment at the Addu Equatorial Hospital. The hospital said that they are working on transferring him to Male' for additional treatment.
Although details of the injuries sustained were not disclosed, the hospital said that his condition is serious.
Police are further investigating the incident.
