Disputes have risen regarding ownership of the ambergris discovered on the shores of Hulhumalé Phase 2.

A case has been officially registered, as confirmed by police media official today. However, given that it is not being treated as a criminal matter, no formal investigation is underway. The complainant has been advised to pursue resolution through the court, according to police statements.

Initial reports circulated on social media, indicating that a child had stumbled upon the ambergris. The image of the boy with the ambergris quickly gained traction online.

While it is presumed to be ambergris, confirmation is still pending.

Subsequently, a woman asserted on Facebook that the child did not discover the ambergris; she did. The woman insists that she found the ambergris, specifying its weight as 1.8 kg.

"The photo of this boy was taken last night when he visited our home," she stated in a Facebook post.

The boy's father, in a separate Facebook post, alleged that the woman had taken the ambergris from his son. It has been revealed that the father filed a complaint against the woman.

Prior to this incident, a dispute surfaced between a boat owner and individuals who found ambergris while at sea. This dispute was brought to court for resolution.
