President Dr. Muizzu submitted nominations for the ambassadorial positions of three countries to the Parliament today.
In his correspondence to Parliament, the President put forth names for the ambassadorial appointments to Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Belgium and the European Union, in accordance with Article 14 of the Foreign Service Act.
The nominees presented by the President are as follows:
- Ambassador to Sri Lanka - Masood Imad, Ma. Thulhagiri
- Ambassador to Malaysia – Maryam Shabina Ahmed, M. Ruhfushi
- Ambassador to Belgium and the EU - Geela Ali, M. Geela Villa
Masood Imad, who is designated as the ambassador to Sri Lanka, previously served as the Press Secretary of the Government of Mohamed Waheed. Geela Ali, the nominee for Belgium and the EU, formerly held the position of Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Health and has prior experience within the foreign ministry.
