President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has decided to meet with leaders of several housing unions today.

In a video released by the President's Office mid-morning, President Muizzu revealed that he will meet with leaders of housing unions and the 'Bodu Kanneli Masveringe Union' (Yellowfin Tuna Fishermen's Union) today.

These meetings mark the first instance of President Muizzu officially meeting housing unions since he assumed office.

The President is set to meet representatives from Fahi Union, Giraavaru Male' Citizen's Association, Gulhifalhu Citizens Association and Hulhumale' Citizen's Committee alongside Male' Resident's Association.

The President said that at the meeting, the officials, who represent large groups of people, can share all thoughts and concerns.

Housing is the area of foremost priority for the President amid this five-year tenure. He also earlier assured that no Maldivian will stand deprived of permanent housing come the end of his administration.

During the series of meetings scheduled for today, President Muizzu is first set to meet with the Fishermen's Union.

Meanwhile, President Muizzu, in the video, also assured that the government's approach towards advancing yellow-fin tuna fishing in the nation is to integrate views and suggestions of fishermen engaged in the field during the process, adding that the series of meetings scheduled for today will serve in facilitating this.
