Male’ City Council fills up the city with vibrant arcs and lights ahead of Eid-al-Adha.

While this year's Eid-al-Adha will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 28, the city council has decorated several major roads in Malé, including Majeedhee Magu and Sosun Magu, as well as major roads in Vilimalé, to enhance the festive atmosphere.

A total of 22 decorative arcs have been installed across Malé City and Vilimalé, accompanied by 2,224 lights illuminating the major roads, creating a vibrant and festive atmosphere, particularly during the night time. This is the first time that Malé City has been decorated to such an extent ahead of Eid.

The City Council announced that as part of the Islamic tradition during Eid-al-Adha, they will be sacrificing 100 goats which will then be distributed as gifts to the local community.
