Local volleyball star and Vice President of Football Association of Maldives (FAM), Aishath Nazima, will contest in the upcoming parliamentary election.
Nazima will run for the seat of Henveiru West Constituency, with the electoral ticket of Jumhooree Party which she recently joined.
In a social media post, Nazima stated that following her accomplishments in sports, she decided to contest for parliament in order to represent her home constituency.
She vowed to be a strong, daring representative for her constituents.
Nazima was the first female deputy leader appointed at FAM.
