The Cambridge A Level exams will be held from September 30 to October 14, while the Edexcel A Level exams will begin on October 8 and conclude on October 31.
This year’s A Level examinations have commenced today, with more than 4,000 students participating in the Maldives.
A total of 4,293 students are sitting for the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC), Edexcel, and Cambridge A Level examinations, being conducted at 48 centers nationwide.
According to the Ministry of Education, 1,663 students are taking the HSC exams, 3,842 are sitting for Edexcel A Levels, and 443 for Cambridge A Levels.
The Cambridge A Level exams will be held from September 30 to October 14, while the Edexcel A Level exams will begin on October 8 and conclude on October 31.
Minister of Education Dr Ismail Shafeeu recently expressed concern over the pass rate for A Level students, noting that it has not yet reached 50 percent.
He said that the desired outcomes cannot be achieved without improving the quality of teachers, and added that the education sector needs more than 2,700 additional teachers to address this issue.
