President Muizzu assures all roads in Male' City will be renovated through China's decision to offer the service within their free aid to Maldives.
President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has stated last night that the Chinese State has determined to renovate all the roads of Male' City.
At the ceremony held in Chaandhanee Magu last night to open the campaign booth of the candidate contending for the Mid Machchangolhi Constituency, Ahmed Zameer, the President stated that the plan being devised for the Greater Male' region with the largest priority is housing and renovating the streets.
"I am stating with great joy that all roads in the entire Male City has been arranged to be renovated under the free aid of the Chinese administration," said the President.
"The concerned Chinese delegation is presently in Maldives. After all the required technical work is concluded, the physical work will begin."
President Dr Muizzu shared that despite beginning efforts to renovate the roads while serving as the Mayor of Male' City, the former MDP administration had obstructed the development and halted the budget.
At a previous date, President Dr Muizzu had shared that the most high priority project slated for completion under the USD 130 million grant from China is the Male' road renovation project.
The tarmac on the City roads has been broken and damaged to the point where ease of travel for drivers and pedestrians alike has been impeded.
