President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, on Thursday, inaugurated dental services at Dhaalu Atoll Hospital.

The new services were unveiled during the 50th-anniversary ceremony of the hospital in Kudahuvadhoo, Dhaalu Atoll.

In addition to President Solih, the ceremony was also attended by Minister of Health Abdulla Ameen and high ranking officials from the medical field.

During the function, the president presented certificates to 12 staff members of Dhaalu Atoll Hospital that served for the past 25 years as well as the best employees of 2018.

A certificate was also awarded to the 'Best Health Centre' in Dhaalu Atoll for 2018.

Furthermore, the ceremony also included the official handover of first aid kits gifted by Greater Male' Industrial Zone Limited under the programme to guarantee first responders for every household in Kudahuvadhoo.

Dhaalu Atoll Hospital was initially opened as a health centre on July 21, 1969, and further developed and established as a hospital on May 24, 2002.

In addition to dental services, the hospital currently offers general medicine and specialised services including gynaecology, paediatrics, anesthesiology and surgery.
