Irish duo caught smuggling drugs at Maldives airport

Criminal Court orders two men attempting to smuggle drugs into Maldives to be kept under custody for five days till the 240 “bullets of drugs” they had swallowed were removed from their body.

The two men were from Northern Ireland.

Police have accused that each men contains approximately 120 bullets of drugs hidden inside their body. They have been admitted in Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH), and so far have removed 12 bullets from one of the men and 13 bullet from the other.

As they were admitted in IGMH, Criminal Court ruled in their absence that they were to be kept under custody for five days.

The court ordered the police to summon both of them to court after the drugs were removed from their bodies.Smuggling drugs into life has been going on for a long time. However, they are often seized because of a report received or because of suspicion within the airport.
