Maldivians who competed in the rocket league of this gaming competition attended by both Qatar and Maldives had demonstrated a resolute performance. This Championship, which was widely endorsed by the country's local gaming community observed competitive and fierce matches.
Ooredoo said that the company's first international championship, which ran from Thursday through Saturday was a thrilling event that concluded successfully. They described this tournament as a new beginning, and expressed their resolve to organize such tournaments in the future as well.
Khalid Al-Hamadi, CEO of Ooredoo reiterated that this competition was one that carved a path towards hosting additional e-sport tournaments in the future. This competition also displayed the readiness of local gamers to battle the world with digital sports, said Hamadi, asserting that facilitating such a platform for gamers and strengthening connections between Qatar and Maldives is an immense joy.
Ooredoo had also streamed the gaming tournament live on their official YouTube channel.
This tournament, which was held to commemorate Ooredoo's 19th anniversary, was allocated a prize pool of USD 1,919 (MVR 29,590).
