Air Arabia, the budget airline of United Arab Emirates, is set to commence direct flights to the Maldives.

Air Arabia, the budget airline of United Arab Emirates, is set to commence direct flights to the Maldives.

Air Arabia is scheduled to start flights to Maldives from October 27, with daily flights planned.

The airline said that an Airbus A320 will be used for these flights.

Air Arabia CEO Adil Al Ali stated that it is pleasure to introduce flights to a world renowned destination such as the Maldives. He said that the aim is to offer ease of travel to such destinations for its customers.

Air Arabia flies to over 80 destinations, including in Europe, Africa and Middle East.

The government has aimed to introduce more airline services in Maldives with the planned expansion of the Velana International Airport. The target is to reach five million tourist arrivals in the next five years.
