A Th. Dhiyamigili youth, who drowned while at the sea on Friday, July 01, had reportedly passed away following further health complications.
Easa Junaah, aged 23, drowned while taking a swim in ADh. Fenfushi due to strong ocean currents.
Following the incident, he was rescued and taken to ADh. Mahibadhoo Hospital for medical attention.
At the time of his demise, Junaah was employed at Sun Island Resort.
Authorities received report of two individuals lost in the sea, sometime around 06:00pm on Friday evening; the victims included Junah and one other.
The drowning victims were initially treated at Fenfushi Health Center, after which they were transferred to Mahibadhoo Hospital following severity in their conditions.
