Police recovers USD 1,050 that was scammed from a group of tourists in Maldives.

They said this case was reported to the police on February 12, at the Dhangethi Police Station in Alif Dhaalu atoll, when their money was scammed by locals after promising them an excursion on a liveaboard. The group of tourists arrived to Maldives on February 6.

This money was recovered on Saturday by a joint operation carried out by the Dhangethi Police Station and the Police Desk by Kaafu Gulhi.

According to the police, the money was obtained from the account the tourist had transferred the money to, and now has been returned to them.

Even though no party has been arrested in this case so far, police said they were still investigating it.
