Minister of Finance Moosa Zameer has assured that even if the medical welfare scheme of Police and Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) is replaced by private insurance, they will not need to pay for services at their own expense.

The detailed budget report for 2025 states that a private insurance package will be arranged for families of Police and MNDF officers in a bid to control spending from the State. It added that once private insurance coverage is exhausted, the officers will receive coverage through Aasandha.
