Ministry of Environment on Monday awarded a contract to a private company to conduct research on establishing drainage systems on five islands in Addu Atoll.
Two contracts were signed between the government and Epoch Associates Pvt Ltd to prepare Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) and flood mitigation designs for the islands of Hithadhoo, Maradhoo, Maradhoo-Feydhoo, Hulhudhoo and Meedhoo in the atoll.
