Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) reports a profit of MVR 130 million in a six months period.
The finances of the company for the first and second quarter confirm a gross revenue of MVR1.1 billion, with a MVR 593 million revenue earned in the second quarter and MV R550 million in the first quarter.
The profit for the corresponding period in 2021 for MTCC was recorded at MVR 125 million, indicating an approximate MVR 5 million increment by the review quarter.
The annual net profit for the company in 2021 stood at MVR 272 million, whereas the year before, in 2020, it stood at MVR 191 million in annual terms.
MTCC affirms its commitment to achieve an annual profit of MVR 300 million.
The company makes majority of its revenue through large-scale contracting projects including land reclamation, harbor development and construction among other infrastructural development projects.
In addition to this, the state-owned enterprise also generates income through its public transportation services.
