Vice President Faisal Naseem urged Maldivians to make roads safer and more harmonious for all citizens.
He made the request while speaking at the ceremony held at Jetty No.1 on June 2, to inaugurate the Road Safety Awareness Campaign.
The VP stressed that it is an utmost priority of the state to ensure the safety of citizens in every way. He added that the campaign is of particularly importance as the number of road accidents in the country is increasing.
Additionally, VP Naseem called on the people to be more cautious in using the roads and to make way for pedestrians to cross the roads safely on the zebra crossing. He also urged pedestrians to be mindful and to use the pavement.
