Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) held the Retirement and Long Service Award function on Tuesday where they honoured employees that had remained loyal to the company for over 20 years.
Two hundred and sixty five employees were honoured for their service of 20, 25, 30, 35, and 40 years of continuous service to MACL.
The company said 240 employees were recognized for their long service in this ceremony held in Hulhule Island Hotel. An additional 25 employees were honoured for their retirement and recognizing their dedicated service to the company.
MACL noted that the high number of employees being awarded for their long service is also an achievement that reflects on their company as well.
Addressing at the ceremony CEO and Managing Director of MACL Mr. Gordon Andrew Stewart noted that it is hard to establish a career in the aviation industry due to the fast paced nature of the job. He said this could serve as an inspiration to other colleagues as well as the younger generation.
“We are honored to have such loyal and committed people representing our organization and we appreciate your dedication, significant expertise and invaluable experience," Stewart said.
MACL is the largest employer with over 3,400 employees. The company has held a ceremony to recognize their long serving employees every year, except for 2020 due to the pandemic.
