This is an initiative taken by the school on occasion of their 40th anniversary in a bid to contribute to the betterment of the Maldivian society.
As part of this initiative, Aged Care Maldives is set to proceed several programs at the school on mental and physical health of senior citizens. Utilizing facilities available at the school, these programs will also assist in building relationships with elderly citizens while fostering a caring and well connected society.
These activities will serve as an important asset that nurtures bonds between senior citizens and those in different age groups, said Ameer Ahmed School. They added that the work will make good use of resources available at education facilities, the school ensured that this social initiative will offer an invaluable example on how best to utilize these resources to build a community. They further expressed hopes of seeing additional schools join them in their efforts to foster a better society as well.
This initiative, set to proceed with Aged Care Maldives is just the beginning of the social responsibility work mapped out by the school, said Aishath Ahlam, Principal of Ameer Ahmed School. She revealed that NGOs will be presented further opportunities to coordinate with the school to proceed similar initiatives that positively impact the society while fortifying social responsibility programs.
The principal stressed the importance of offering a safe space for the nation's elderly wherein they can build relationships and enjoy a relaxed time. She further expressed hope that the program launched together with Aged Care Maldives will induce positive changes across the society.
Describing the partnership between Aged Care Maldives and the school as the foundation of very important social work, the NGO had emphasized the significance of the initiatives planned by the school as well.
Besides nurturing solid relationships with senior citizens, those in different age groups spending time together will also contribute to the overall betterment of society, assured the NGO.
Ameer Ahmed School remains one of the nation's oldest preschools to date. The school has continued to persevere in their resolve to build a generation of children who will contribute positively to the society while demonstrating valuable examples to preschoolers engaged in education at the school.
