Italy is currently the fifth largest source market for tourists visiting the Maldives, with 108,000 visitors arriving frim Italy so far this year. Last year, Italy ranked sixth in tourist arrivals to the Maldives.
A total of 1.5 million tourists have visited the Maldives so far this year. The government is aiming to attract a total of two million tourists by the end of 2024.
