Muhtaz has been transferred to the Foreign Ministry, and is reportedly going to serve as a diplomat in Singapore.
Former Criminal Justice Advisor to the President of the current administration Muhtaz Muhsin has been transferred to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at the capacity of a State Minister.
Muhtaz, who also previously served as a Prosecutor General, confirmed his transfer to the Foreign Ministry to local media outlet Mihaaru.
Local reports suggest he is to be appointed as a Deputy Ambassador to Singapore, while maintaining his political status as a State Minister. However, this is yet to be confirmed by the government.
Over the years, Muhtaz, was appointed as the Criminal Justice Advisor to President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu in January of this year, filled various positions in the country's justice system, including being a judge at the Criminal Court.
He also contested for the Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) / People's National Congress (PNC)'s primary ticket for the Parliament in the most recent elections.
