STO has brought down the price of onions ahead of Ramadan.
With less than a week to go till Ramadan, STO has brought down the price of onions.
A kilo of onions is now sold at MVR 17 at STO, an MVR 3 decrease from the earlier MVR 20 price.
A sack of onions can now be bought for MVR 320. Previously, the price of a sack was at MVR 450.
The stock of onion, potatoes and eggs that STO brought in especially for Ramadan was released into the market last week. Every year, STO brings in the most popular food items that are bought by consumers.
Currently, a kilo of potatoes are sold at MVR 15, with the price of an egg being MVR 1.7.
STO said that it will be bringing in other varieties of food items as well which generally face price hikes during Ramadan.
