President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and First Lady Fazna Ahmed arrived in Mauritius on Thursday, upon an invitation from the Mauritian Government.
The President and First Lady will be attending the opening ceremony of the Indian Ocean Island Games (IOIG) in Port Louis, to show support for the Maldivian athletes who will be competing. They will also witness several of the sporting events to be held over the next few days.
IOIG is a multi-sport event held every four years among athletes from Indian Ocean island nations.
Previously, the President and First Lady had departed on an official visit to Singapore.
