President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu on Monday, November 20, has appointed the Former President of National Integrity Commission (NIC) Yoosuf Maniu Mohamed as the new Commissioner General of Customs.
Besides the new Customs Commissioner's appointment, President Muizzu appointed other senior officials to various government institutions on Monday.
Their oath of office and letter of appointment handover took place at the President's Office in a special ceremony held for the purpose.
The new Customs Commissioner was appointed in the same level as a State Minister.
President Muizzu also appointed Hassan Zareer as the new Commissioner of Prisons at the ceremony as well.
Abdulla Nazim Ibrahim was appointed as the Principal Secretary to the President on Public Policy of the President's Office, who will have the same rank as a minister.
Three more individuals were appointed at State Minister levels, who include;
- State Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Mohamed Fahmy Hassan
- State Minister of the Ministry of Sports Ibrahim Amir
- State Minister of Muliaage (Presidential Palace) Fathimath Shamnaz Ali, who is a former Male' City Council member
