President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih is scheduled to attend the coronation ceremony of King Charles III.
According to the Spokesperson for the President's Office, Miuvaan Mohamed, President Solih will depart for London on Wednesday evening. The coronation ceremony for King Charles and Queen Consort Camilla Parker Bowles is scheduled for Saturday, May 6.
“President Solih will attend the Commonwealth leaders event and the special reception for foreign dignitaries during his visit,” Miuvaan said.
President Solih and First Lady Fazna Ahmed had also attended the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II in September 2022.
It was reported that the state spent nearly MVR 3 million on the presidential couple’s five-day trip to the UK last year.
