Ministry of Health on Tuesday appoints State Minister Dr. Shah Mahir as head of Maldives Food and Drug Authority (MFDA) and State Minister Mohamed Zuhair as the head of Health Protection Agency (HPA).
Official letter of appointment was delivered by Health Minister Abdulla Ameen to the appointees during a special ceremony.
MFDA’s tasks include licensing and monitoring food and beverage service providers.
Pharmaceutical regulation is under MFDA authority, while HPA is responsible for controlling and raising awareness about diseases.
