A yacht located near the Ritz-Carlton Fari Resort was engulfed in flames, suffering extensive damage.
The Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) said that the incident was reported to the MNDF Fire and Rescue Service at approximately 7:30 a.m. All tourists and crew onboard were safely transferred to another vessel, and no injuries were reported, according to MNDF.
Photographs depict a significant section of the yacht severely burned.
The cause of the fire remains unknown at this time.
