Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) has launched a new marketing campaign in partnership with McDonald’s.
The marketing campaign targets German-speaking markets; Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, and aims to boost visibility and awareness of the Maldives tourism brand across the countries.
Under the partnership, promotional content from MMPRC will be shared with McDonald’s Travel TV, which will advertise it across 700 outlets to reach an expected 35 million consumers. The content will showcase the unique experiences of the Maldives, including underwater seascapes, shipwrecks, and romantic experiences.
MMPRC initiated several high-profile marketing campaigns targeted at German-speaking markets in 2022, including campaigns with TUI Austria, TUI Germany, Condor, FTI, and outdoor campaigns with Dotcom Arabia.
Additionally, MMPRC took part in notable travel-trade fairs in the market including the IMM Germany, IMEX 2022, and ITB Digital Business Day.
The German-speaking market is among the strongest source markets in the Maldives. The Ministry of Tourism reported a total of 132,426 arrivals from Germany in 2022 making it the fourth strongest market, while Switzerland was the tenth strongest market last year with 34,248 annual arrivals.
